3kg Powder Fire Extinguisher

The 3kg powder fire extinguisher is a great choice of multi-purpose extinguisher due to its compact size and impressive fire-fighting power. Useful for where you have Class B and C fire risks – flammable liquids and gases – it’s also suitable for use on general solid material fires and even electricals.

Ideal for the mobile worker who is handling such risks and small premises, this PowerX 6kg powde extinguisher is CE Marked, BSI Kitemarked, has a 13A 89B fire rated, and comes with a 5-year warranty.  However, despite its wide-ranging fire-fighting abilities, powder extinguishers are messy and can pose a personal risk when used indoors.

Suitable for small kitchens, portable buildings, workshops, small industrial units, boats and places where size and weight of the extinguisher are important.

The updated British Standard 5306-8:2012 Selection and positioning of portable fire extinguishers – Code of Practice states as follows:

"5.4.3 Use of powder extinguishers - The discharge of a powder extinguisher within buildings can cause a sudden reduction of visibility and can also impair breathing, which could temporarily jeopardise escape, rescue or other emergency action. For this reason, powder extinguishers should generally not be specified for use indoors, unless mitigated by a health and safety risk assessment.

Additionally, when looking to comply with Part 8 of the ADR regulations, ensure you meet the minimum dry powder fire extinguisher provision to suit the size of your vehicle.
