FAQs

The Products

How can you sell your fire safety products at such low prices?

Quite simply because we sell fire safety products without the usual overheads (such as shops, service department, accounts department, sales staff, company vehicles, etc) that force the price of fire products up. It does not mean that we compromise on the quality of our products. We only sell UK fire extinguishers and UK fire blankets that conform to the latest standards, currently this includes the British Standard Kitemark, BS EN3 approval and CE mark.

What if I find the same products at a lower price?

We are committed to supplying quality fire safety products at the lowest prices. If you can find exactly the same product for a cheaper price elsewhere, we want you to tell us about it, because our aim is to provide the most affordable quality fire safety products on the market.

Who supplies your products and where do they come from?

Our fire safety products are all supplied by long established and leading trade suppliers in the UK. We constantly review our list of suppliers to ensure that we supply only the best quality products at the lowest possible prices and the list contains names such as Chubb Fire, Kidde, Jalite, Thomas Glover, Steroplast, Homesaver, First Alert, Sentry Safes and many more household names. (Most of our fire safety products are still manufactured in the UK and Europe)

How can I be sure I choose the right products?

Even if you know nothing about fire safety products, our unique system of categorising the products on our web site according to their relevant use, will make choosing the right product much easier. If you’re still not sure what’s the best solution for you, our experienced team of staff are waiting to receive your emails or telephone calls and will be more than happy to give you expert guidance.

Will I need to fix extinguishers and fire blankets to the wall?

The British Standard 5306 part 8 advises that all extinguishers should be wall mounted and all of our fire extinguishers come complete with a suitable wall hanging bracket. Fire blankets can simply be fitted with a pan head screw. You should, however, ensure that the both the wall itself and the fixings are strong enough to bear the weight of the extinguisher. The British Standard recommends that small extinguishers be mounted with their handle approximately 1.5 metres from the ground, and larger (3 litre/kg and above plus 2kg CO2) units with the handle mounted only 1 metre from the ground. Or, they can sit on a fire extinguisher stand or plinth.

If you do not have suitable wall space to fix your extinguishers, we offer a range of suitable stands and cabinets as an alternative.

Do your fire extinguishers need servicing and, if so, can you do it?

All extinguishers need proper maintenance every year by a qualified service company. In addition, some extinguishers need a discharge test every five years. We have service technicians that cover the whole of the UK with our Easy Service Plan at fixed prices with no extras and no contracts. Click this link for extinguisher servicing details and prices.
