Fire safety signs are a vital part of your business fire safety strategy, marking everything from safe fire exits to the location of first aid boxes. Safety signs are divided into five main types:

Red Fire Safety Signs

Red fire safety signs indicate the location of fire safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, hose reels, or alarm points.

Red Circular Prohibition Signs

These signs feature a red circle with a line through it, overlying a pictogram. The action depicted is prohibited; an everyday example is the familiar 'No Smoking' sign with a pictogram of a cigarette crossed through.

Green Safe Condition Signs

Green safety signs indicate the location of safety equipment, such as first aid kits, or safe passage, such as fire exit signs.

Yellow Triangular Caution Sign

These signs warn of potential hazards, from wet floors to dangerous electrical equipment.

The UK Health and Safety Regulations 1996 require all business owners to provide specific safety signs for their staff and customers, whenever there is "a risk that has not been avoided or controlled by other means." Signs are not required when their presence would not reduce the risk, or the risk is minor.

Our range of fire safety signs at Easy Fire Safety includes long-lasting rigid plastic signs by Jalite, many of which are photoluminescent, so they glow in the dark.
