Storage areas in many instances, especially where decanting and re-packaging of chemicals is performed, should always have a spill kit at hand. In order to facilitate the easy cleaning up after a spill, our spill kits have what is needed. Ranging in size from 20 litres up to 240 litres for larger industrial areas, our spill kits include solvents for many different spills for example, chemical substances oils and water.

Regardless of the care taken, there are unexpected and unavoidable incidents which, by law, necessitate the availability of the correct spill kit. For the benefit of staff the environment, contamination should be avoided at all costs.

On average, a small workshop such as a garage with one or two mechanics needs a simple kit and so the 20 litre kit is adequate. For larger areas such as aircraft maintenance etc, where large volumes of cleaning agents are housed, the larger kit is required. This requirement is in terms of the regulations such as EA/SEPA/NIEA and guidelines (PPG 26) with which you must comply.

It is essential that all staff are aware of the hazards of a spill and are given suitable training. They should also be familiar with the location of such kits. Speed of response to a spill is essential and can prevent environmental contamination as well as any possible injury to staff. Should any material be stored off site, a suitable vehicle equipped with a correctly sized spill kit helps to ensure you’re prepared in case of emergency.

Which Spill Kits Should I Choose?

It is essential that all potentially-hazardous material which can cause a spill is listed, along with the staff capable of dealing with spills and locations of kits. This will, to a certain extent, determine the kit that is kept on hand. In some circumstances, multiple spill kits may be required.

The EVO kit is a popular choice and is well suited to the spillage of hydraulic and lubricating oils, solvents, engine oils coolants and antifreeze.

The general-purpose kit is the best choice when it comes to absorbing coolants, antifreeze oil water and weak chemical solutions and solvents.

The oil and fuel spill kit will not absorb water and is therefore ideal for marinas and rivers. This kit will absorb all hydraulic oils, engine, and lubricating oils as well as solvents.

Our chemical spill kit will safely absorb acids alkalis and strong chemical and solvents. It is not suitable for use on oxidizers.
