Power Supply Units

Power supply units are required for a range of fire alarm ancillary devices. This is because the devices need to be powered directly from the mains because of the high voltages which are vital for their operation. Some power supplied also feature a battery facility which means they can continue to function during a power outage.

Devices which require their own Power Supply Unit (PSU) include beam detectors, AOV systems, aspirating smoke detectors, sounder systems, and auto-dial communicators. Additionally, magnetic fire door holders will require a smaller PSU. These mean that the devices are fully powered, whilst enabling them to communicate with the fire alarm system, whether they trigger the alarm or perform a function whenever the alarm is activated.
