The only fire extinguisher suitable to use on fire involving Lithium-Ion batteries, often used in electronic devices, the Lith-Ex 500ml fire extinguisher is a world-first. It’s not uncommon for this type of battery to overheat and catch fire, and as they’re commonly used in laptops, mobiles, tablets, camera, toys, drones and electric scooters, they’re everywhere. No other type of extinguisher, not even a powder, is safe to use on Lithium-Ion batteries up to 62Wh, and that’s why the compact and lightweight uses a revolutionary, non-toxic and environmentally-friendly new extinguishing agent. AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion) is deployed as a mist which then creates a film over the surface which instantly dries to create an oxygen barrier, cools and prevents re-ignition. Manufactured in Great Britain, the Lith-Ex fire extinguisher is suitable for Class A (wood, paper, cloth, etc) fires, and has been dielectrically tested as safe for use on live electrical fires up to 35kV. Although there is currently no standard in place for extinguishing Lithium fires, it is manufactured in accordance with BS 6165:2002 for aerosol extinguishers. With a three year lifespan, the Lith-Ex is suitable for homes, hotels, vehicles, aviation, marine, and leisure facilities, supplied with a compact wall bracket.
