Fire Door Holders

Designed to hold open fire doors in any area where easy access is required, fire door holders are ideals for schools, hospitals, care homes and other public buildings. Using door wedges and blocking them open with objects such as fire extinguishers is actually illegal with fire doors. This is because, in the event of a fire, the door would not be shut and will be no use in preventing the spread of fire and smoke.

When you use a fire door holder, they’ll retain the door in the open position legally as it releases the door and allows it to shut when the alarm is activated. Either triggered acoustically by the sound of your alarm or hardwired into your fire alarm system, you can provide access without preventing the door from doing its job.

Available as individual units, you can also choose door closers which have an inbuilt door retaining system and therefore only require one item to be installed. These are ideal for schools, hospitals, care homes, and other public buildings.
