Optical Smoke Detector

The Optical Smoke Detector uses an infrared light inside the unit to effectively ‘see’ smoke building up and then activate your conventional fire alarm system. Suitable for detecting smouldering fires often caused by furnishings, these are ideal for locating in offices, living areas, bedrooms and escape routes to ensure you have an early warning for potential threats.

With two ultra-bright LED indicating strips, on either side of the detector unit, it is able to provide 360° visibility so they can be seen from any entrance to a room. It also has drift compensation functionality, meaning it can self-calibrate in order to prevent environmental changes, such as dust, causing false alarms, impacting its efficiency.

Part of C-TEC’s ActiV range of detectors which are produced in the UK, the optical detector is EN54-7 certified and IP42 rated. This needs installing with a suitable detector base (sold separately).
